Free was a second round pick of the Philadelphia 76ers back in 1975 in the second round of the NBA draft.
The flamboyant Free was second in scoring in the NBA two consecutive seasons, 1978-79 and 1979-80. He averaged 20.3 points per game over his 13 year career. His best year was the 79-80 campaign with the then San Diego Clippers when he averaged 30.2 points per game.
