Hall of Famer, Heisman Trophy Winner Tony Dorsett This Week on Sports Sunday

CLEARFIELD – WOKW’s, (102.9), “Sports Sunday” at 9:15 am, with Dave Marino and Bear Stewart welcomes former Heisman Trophy winner and Pro Football Hall of Fame running back, Tony Dorsett this Sunday.

Dorsett led the University of Pittsburgh to the 1976 National Title while winning the coveted Heisman Trophy the same season. He was a four time All-American at Pitt and led the nation in rushing with 1,948 yards, also in 1976.

He was the second overall pick of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys in the 1977 draft. That year Dorsett rushed for 1,007 yards and was named NFL Rookie of the Year.

Dorsett was the first player ever to win a college national title one year and the Super Bowl the next when the Cowboys beat the Denver Broncos 27-10 in Super Bowl XII.

There is also the possibility of another very, very special guest this Sunday if arrangements can be finalized.
