Lady Bisons and Lady Tide are Number 1 Seeds for D-9 Softball Playoffs

CURWENSVILLE – Defending champions Clearfield and Curwensville rated No. 1 seeds for the 2008 District 9 Softball Playoffs, according to pairings released Tuesday by District 9 Committee Softball Chairman Jerry Linsenbigler of Curwensville Area High School.
 
Clearfield is one of three teams entered in Class AAA, while 2007 state champion Curwensville is one of 12 teams in Class A.
 
Neither team will play on the first day of their respective tourneys.
 
The Lady Bisons go right to the May 28 Class AAA title game at a neutral site against the winner of the Punxsutawney-Bradford semifinal.
 
The Lady Tide gets a first-round bye, with its May 21 quarterfinal opponent to be determined Monday when No. 8 DuBois Central hosts No. 9 Clarion-Limestone. Curwensville will play at home in its tourney opener.
 
All games are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
