UFo Landings at Pittsburgh\’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway and Central PA Speedway in May

Pittsburgh- After blasting off with one of the most thrilling races in recent history, the new Unified Force Race Championship Tour presented by Comcast will rocket into full speed in the month of May with two exciting events.    The Pizza Hut \”F-2 Shockwave\” at Pittsburgh\’s PA Motor Speedway and \”The Grizzly\” at the Central PA Speedway will mark the 2nd and 3rd events of the $444,000 tour.

On Sunday night, May 18, the UFo Race Championship Tour presented by Comcast will make its initial appearance at Pittsburgh\’s PA Motor Speedway for the Pizza Hut \”F-2 Shockwave.\”  This event will showcase dirt-style superspeedway racing on the monster 5/8 mile with a unique twin 30-lap feature format that pays $2,500 to win and $190 for 24th.   With the track\’s Pizza Hut Winners\’ Circle Program, the winner of each feature will be awarded a $50 bonus if their cars display the track-provided Pizza Hut decal.   The possible total to win for the event will be $5,100.   Each race will start a 32-car grid, including 2 UFo Race Championship and 2 track provisional starters.   The PPMS \”lucky dog\” format will also be utilized, where lapped cars receive 1 lap back during caution periods.

Also featured on the racing program will be the Semi-Lates paying $600 to win, E-mod Sportsman paying $500 to win, Cadets paying $400 to win and feature events for the track\’s Amateur Stocks and Young Gun divisions.   All winners\’ amounts include the possible Pizza Hut Winner\’s Circle Bonus.   The Semi-Late, E-mod Sportsman and Cadets will use the same rules at the Challenger Raceway with the exception of weight and spoiler rules that will be announced shortly on the track\’s website, http://www.ppms.com.  An open brand/compound tire rule will apply for those classes as well as the UFo Super Late Models.  The track will also feature a full racing program on Saturday night, May 17, with Super Late Models, Crate Late Models, E-mods, Pure Stocks, Amateur Stocks and Young Guns.

Pit gates at PPMS will open for the F-2 Shockwave at 3:30, spectator gates at 4:00, warm-ups at 6:00 and racing at 7:00.  Adult admission will be $20, Seniors, $19, Junior 13-16 $15, Children 7-12 $5 and Pits $32.

The next UFo sighting will take place on Sunday Night, May 25 at the Central PA Speedway.  \”The Grizzly\” will mark the first event under the new track ownership of Tim Bainey with Kenny McLaughlin returning to the role of track management.  This wide, high-speed 3/8 mile known at \”The Big Bear\” was re-clayed this spring to provide racers a premium surface.    This event will be highlighted by the trademark \”Area 51-lap\” feature paying $5,000 to win and $375 for 24th.   A 28-car starting field will include 2 UFo and 2 track provisional starting positions.   Also on the racing program will be the competitive Street Stock class paying a whopping $1,000 to win.

The Unified Force Race Championship presented by Comcast has over $404,000 of prize payoffs for Super Late Model teams over the 12 scheduled races including a points bonus for the top 10 drivers at the end of the season.  The points bonus includes $1,000 for each completed event plus 100% of additional sponsor contributions.  The tour has $40,000 plus of contingency awards available to drivers through the Contingency Connection Program.  The Pass Maximum award winner from the feature event plus the top 2 drivers in UFo points that do not qualify for the feature will be awarded contingency prize bundles at the events.   A driver eligible for just 20 awards out of the 100+ participating sponsors will win a total of $500 in product certificates.
