Lick Run Bridge Project to Begin Soon

CLEARFIELD – PennDOT District 2 will begin work March, 18 to replace the Lick Run Bridge on state Route 879 in Lawrence Township.

Construction of a new five-span, concrete “I” beam bridge will replace the existing structure. Motorists are advised to watch for construction vehicles entering SR 879 from the construction area. Work in this first phase of the project includes clearing and grubbing and placement of sedimentation and erosion controls.

Contractor on the $11.6 million project is Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College. PennDOT expects work on the two-year project to be completed by

December of 2009. PennDOT reminds motorists to move through all work zones with caution, obey posted speed limit signs and always buckle up.
