Golden Tide Cagers Defeated 84-46 by MVL Leaders

WESTOVER – With Cody Rydbom controlling action in the paint and Jeremy Priester and Cameron Norris forcing Curwensville to keep defensive pressure on the outside, too, Harmony moved closer to repeating as Moshannon Valley League boys basketball champion with an 84-46 win Tuesday night.

 

Rydbom sparkled for the host Owls with 31 points and a bundle of rebounds, while Priester pumped in 14 points, including four three-pointers, and Norris tallied 12.

 

Harmony, 16-3 overall, improved its MVL record to 5-1 and increased its lead over West Branch to a game and a half.

 

Curwensville (6-11, 2-4) was led by David Kalgren\’s 18 points.

 

Coach Matt Wassil\’s Golden Tide fell behind 20-9 after one quarter and was down 38-22 by halftime.

 

Curwensville will be at home against Kane in an Allegheny Mountain League game Friday.

 

Harmony also was victorious in the prelim, 59-48. Jed Greslick scored 25 points and Sam Gardner added 13 for the Curwensville junior varsity.
