ALLPORT – West Branch, one of three teams in the hunt for the Moshannon Valley League girls basketball title won by Curwensville last season, outscored the visiting Lady Tide in every quarter for a 62-32 victory Monday night.
The Lady Warriors hit eight shots from three-point territory and capitalized on many of the Lady Tide\’s two dozen turnovers to improve their third-place MVL record to 3-2 and their overall record to 9-6.
Brianna Parks, who scored all four of her treys in the first half, led West Branch with 16 points.
Kari Larson, who burned Curwensville\’s nets for 30 points in the Lady Warriors\’ 67-43 opening night win on Dec. 4, chipped in with 12. The standout senior became West Branch\’s all-time leading scorer Friday against Bellwood-Antis and now is just 31 points shy of 1,000 for her career.
The Lady Tide, which trailed 33-16 at halftime, was led by Alesia Bressler\’s 12 points.
Curwensville, 0-5 in the MVL and 0-15 overall, will host Moshannon Valley, the MVL runner-up at 3-1, Wednesday night in Patton Hall.
The Lady Tide jayvees also lost.
