Meadville – The Clearfield Bison wrestling team claimed 1 champion at this weekend’s Tool City tournament. Heavyweight standout Sean Owen ran his record to 18-1, winning the title via an 11-2 major decision, 2 falls, and a 2-1 overtime win in the finals.
Clearfield placed 3 other wrestlers:
Kodie Lowder finished 2nd at 103 lbs, winning 2 decisions and a pin before losing by fall
at 3:10 of his finals match to Ian Starner of Boiling Springs.
Andrew Spicer made is tournament debut at 112 lbs and claimed 6th place. Spicer made the semifinals with a decision and a fall before losing a major decision and 2 regular decisions.
At 215, Andre Buck lost his opening round bout 7-3 but fought back with 2 falls and a 3-1 win before losing my major decision and fall to also claim 6th place.
As a team, Clearfield finished eighth out of sixteen teams, with 94.5 points. AA power Reynolds won the tournament with 259.5 points. District 9 rival Dubois finished seventh with 117.5 points. Clearfield wrestles at Dubois Tuesday night.
