HYDE – A loss and a tie against West Branch Sunday afternoon at the Bison Sports Complex left the Clearfield American Legion Post 6 fall baseball team with a final record of 6-11-3 for the 2007 season.
The visitors rallied for three runs in the fifth inning to pull out a 5-4 victory in the first game.
Winning pitcher Derrick Noll fashioned a five-hitter.
Michael Moyer was tagged with the loss despite allowing only three hits and three earned runs while striking out a season-high 12.
In the see-saw nightcap, Clearfield grabbed a 7-5 lead with three runs in the top of the sixth inning, but West Branch came back with two in the bottom of the frame.
Moyer led Clearfield\’s 11-hit attack with a double and two singles. Aaron Sayers singled and doubled, Justin Hoffman singled twice and Robert Lombardo doubled.
Sayers, who started and pitched four innings, and Isaac Butler gave up 10 hits.
Paul Hahn was the West Branch hurler.
