LT Supervisors Approve Winter Activities Program

CLEARFIELD – Children in the Clearfield area may soon have other options when it comes to winter activities.

The Lawrence Township Supervisors approved a recommendation from the Lawrence Township Rec Park Board to set up a winter activities program within the township.

The program will be housed within the same building as the township’s police station. It will be similar to a program that used to be held at the Clearfield County Driving Park, according to Sid Lansberry, winter activities supervisor. The program will include activites such as baseball and basketball. While an entrance fee has not been established yet, the fee at the driving park was $1 for each child, according to Lansberry.

“It was successful,” said Lansberry.

“I’m all for this,” said Ed Brown, Lawrence Township supervisor. Brown said that precautions would need to be taken to protect the sprinkler systems.

Other items, such as the enrance fee and the heating for the area will be worked out later.

“I think it could be worked out,” added Brown.
