STATE COLLEGE – The District 5 Tournament trail ended for the Clearfield Little League 10-and-11 All-Stars Wednesday evening as State College American\’s Ben Finlan pitched a two-hitter for a 10-0, four-inning victory in the elimination bracket final.
Christian Lezzer doubled and Derek Hryn singled for Clearfield, which made a good run through the elimination bracket to post a 3-2 record.
Finlan struck out five and walked four.
SC American (2-1) gave Finlan all the runs he needed with a four-run salvo in the first inning.
Lezzer was the losing hurler, allowing seven hits, four walks and seven runs in 2-1/3 innings. He had two strikeouts.
Mike Beck pitched in relief, giving up three hits, one walk and three runs in one inning.
State College American (2-1) will play State College National (2-0) in the championship game Friday. If SC American wins, another game will be played Sunday.
