PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. — Clearfield dominated inside and on the boards to outscore Punxsutawney in every period and cap the regular season with a 60-31 win in District 9 League schoolboy basketball action Thursday night.
Todd Hryn\’s 14 points and Mike Johnson\’s 13 tallies topped the Bisons, who will take a 15-9 record into their District 9 Class AAA semifinal game at Bradford Tuesday night. They were 7-5 in league play.
Coach Forrest Campman\’s Bisons opened up an 11-2 lead in the first seven minutes and closed the second quarter with an 18-2 run for a 36-14 halftime bulge.
Kevin Neal scored 13 points for the Chucks, who finished 3-9 in the league and 5-17 overall.
In the junior varsity game, Parker Herrington scored 19 points to pace Clearfield\’s 46-33 victory.
