Curwensville—-Anytime your team puts together a 38-10 run before the half you would expect to come out on top. The Curwensville Golden Tide did exactly that with a 68-35 romp over the visiting Moshannon Valley Black Knights on Monday night.
The Tide were down 9-8 with half of the first quarter gone when they went on a 24-0 run well into the second to bolt out in front at the half 46-19. Senior Craig Bartlett paced the Tide with a game high 16. Twelve of those came in the first quarter.
The only question needed to be answered in the second half was the final score as Curwensville outscored the Knights 22-16 to register their fourth straight victory and push their record to 9-4. They now stand one game behind Harmony in the Moshannon Valley league with a 4-1 mark.
The Black Knight\’s, under head coach Darrin Ricciotti, dropped to 5-10 and 2-4 in MoValley League action.
Philip Michaels had 14 while Shawn Sopic added 10 to help out Bartlett in the home court blow out.
Sophomore Tyler Neff dumped in 9 and classmate Tom Rowley had 8 to lead Mo Valley.
Head coach Matt Wassil and the Tide are home again Wednesday when they entertain Brockway. The first meeting at Brockway was all Curwensville in a 42-16 win.
Junior Varsity action saw the Golden Tide come out on top 52-43.
