CLEARFIELD – A Mahaffey man accused of breaking into a home and assaulting a man inside the home waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Jameson Scott Swatsworth, 20, is charged with criminal trespass, simple assault, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and harassment.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Swatsworth kicked in the door of a Curwensville home then assaulted the man inside on Sept. 22. The responding officer noted red marks and brush burns on the alleged victim, as well as damage to the home. The damage is estimated at $710. On Sept. 26, Swatsworth provided a written statement to police stating that he did indeed commit the crimes he was accused of.
Swatsworth is free on unsecured bail.
