Penn State-Temple football game set for 3:30 p.m. kickoff

University Park, Pa. — ESPN Regional will televise the Penn State-Temple football game at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, from Beaver Stadium.

The contest will be televised to a regionally syndicated audience. FSN Pittsburgh, WPVI-TV (Philadelphia), YES (New York) and MASN (Baltimore) are among the outlets that will carry the contest, with the entire list of outlets to be announced. The contest also may be available on the ESPN GamePlan package.

With the Penn State-Temple game starting at 3:30 p.m., the start time for the Nov. 11 Penn State-Iowa women\’s volleyball match in Rec Hall has been moved to 8 p.m.

The clash with Temple is Penn State\’s 11th announced TV appearance of the season. This Saturday\’s game at No. 17 Wisconsin will be an ABC split national telecast at noon.

The Nittany Lions have made four appearances on ABC (Ohio State, Northwestern, Michigan and Purdue), two on ESPN2 (Akron and Illinois), one on NBC (Notre Dame), one on ESPNU (Youngstown State) and one on ESPN Regional (Minnesota) so far this season. The Nittany Lions have appeared on television in 147 of their last 149 games.

All Penn State football games can be heard on the Penn State Sports Network and http://www.GoPSUsports.com online, with selected games available on XM Satellite Radio.

Penn State and Temple will be meeting for the first time since 2003, a 23-10 Penn State win in the season opener. The Nittany Lions lead the series, 31-3-1. The squads will next meet Nov. 10, 2007, at Lincoln Financial Field. Temple is led by first-year coach Al Golden, who lettered for the Nittany Lions at tight end from 1989-91.

Temple hosts Central Michigan on Saturday before the contest with the Nittany Lions. Future Penn State contests may be selected by the networks under the six- and 12-day provisions of their contracts with the Big Ten.

A limited number of tickets are available for the contest with Temple. Tickets also can be purchased at the Bryce Jordan Ticket Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. All of Penn State\’s Big Ten home games sold out this season, including the Nov. 18 season finale with Michigan State.

Penn State improved to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the Big Ten with a 12-0 victory at Purdue Saturday. The Nittany Lions earned their first shutout since a 49-0 win over Northwestern in 2002 and the Boilermakers were held scoreless for the first time since 1996.
