Framework for Tentative Agreement Between DuBois Area School Board and DESPA Announced

DUBOIS – The framework for a tentative agreement between the DuBois Area School Board and the union representing support staffers at DuBois school is in place.

Dennis Raybuck, a school board member who sits on the negotiating committee for the school board, made the announcement at Wednesday’s meeting of the DuBois School Board. Raybuck also stated that he was not to discuss the issue publicly.

Tension between the school board and the DuBois Education Support Professional Association reached a head on Oct. 5 when DESPA went on strike. The support staffers went back to work after reaching a tentative agreement before a motion for injunctive relief was set to be heard before Clearfield County President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman on Oct. 17.

Members of DESPA attended the Oct. 25 board meeting to discuss matters involving workers not receiving paychecks for hours they did not work but were payed for prior. That story can be found here.
