The Gant Daily athlete of the week for this past week is Bugs Bayer of Rockton.
Bugs set the world record in the squat for lifters 60 years old and over by completing a 567 pound lift.
The lift enabled Bugs to earn a silver medal in the powerlifting world championships in Killeen, TX.

Curwensville quarterback Shawn Sopic. Sopic passed and ran for over 100 yards in the 42-0 pasting of Kane.
Mo Valley running back Kyle Smith. Smith ran for 158 yards and a touchdown in the Black Knights 14-7 victory over Williamsburg.
