Penn State-Minnesota Football Game to be played as scheduled

The Penn State at Minnesota football game will be played on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Metrodome in Minneapolis as previously scheduled. The game will kick-off at noon ET/11:00 a.m. CT. ESPN2 is scheduled to air the game, depending on the status of the Major League Baseball playoffs.

If ESPN2 is carrying a baseball playoff game early Saturday afternoon, then the football game will air on ESPN Regional affiliates, which are to be announced at this point, but will be announced later in the week. If the game airs on ESPN Regional, it also would be available on the ESPN GamePlan package.

The network televising the game may not be known until all of the baseball playoff games have concluded on Friday, Oct. 6. Please check http://www.GoPSUsports.com for more information Friday night. The contest also will air on the Penn State Sports Network and http://www.GoPSUsports.com online.

The Nittany Lions lead the series, 5-4, winning 44-14 last year in State College. Penn State (3-2, 1-1)
defeated Northwestern, 33-7, on Saturday in Beaver Stadium. The Golden Gophers lost to No. 6 Michigan, 28-14, on Saturday.
