Clearfield FB 8th and 9th Graders Sweep St. Marys

St. Marys — The Clearfield Junior High squads took the trip north to Dutch Country Stadium and went 2-0 on the night.

The 8th graders won for the first time to raise their record to 1-3 on the season. Down 14-0 at the half, the winless Bisons looked beaten again. But this determined group fought back, led by 2 Jordan Voss touchdowns, to win 16-14. Derek Danver added what proved to be the game winning 2-point conversion, as he dove for the pylon around the left end.

The night cap was also an exciting, hard hitting game. The 9th graders bounced back from their first loss of the season last week against DuBois to pitch a shutout 12-0.

Luke Bell and Trey Campman each scored a touchdown for the 3-1 Bisons.

The defensive effort was led by Brady Dixon, Ethan Gillespie, Derek Danver, Lance Toy, Trey Campman, and others.

Junior High action will continue next Thursday September 28th at home against Indian Valley at 5PM and 7 PM.
