The first GantDaily athlete of the week is actually the athletes of the week.
Due to their success at the Class C Fast-Pitch Softball Nationals; Kevin Billotte, Brandon Billotte, and Jerry Watson will share the weekly honor after being named to the National All-tourney team.
Each player\’s clutch performance helped lead the Buster\’s Brewers to a 4th place finish in the 42 team field.
For their 4th place finish, the rest of the Buster\’s team gets an honorable mention nod: Brian Barr, Travis Henry, Justin Wallace, Todd Schickling, Rich Stewart, Steve Terry, Brent Thomas, Andy Squires
The week could not go unnoticed though without the mention of Nick Sipes\’ career achievement this past week. Sipes rushed for 132 yards on 30 carries to push him well past the 4,000 yard mark for his career. Nick is now only 586 yards from the all-time D9 rushing career record.
