DUBOIS – Joshua E. Burnside, 19, of DuBois, is accused of breaking into a washing machine’s coin holder and an office at Speed Wash, a DuBois laundromat. In addition to felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass, other counts were filed against Burnside for allegedly taking a 16-year-old along for the heist and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Burnside waived all charges on to court Friday when he appeared before Magisterial District Judge Patrick Ford.
Court documents allege that Burnside and a 16-year-old were attempting to break into a washing machine’s coin holder at about 10 p.m. Aug. 24. Witnesses said they saw Burnside use his shoulder to break into the business’ office.
Police found that Burnside had a can of soda, two bottles of soda and a pill bottle containing 97 Klonipin pills in his pants. The 16-year-old was carrying 10 drink boxes in his pants.
Klonipin is the brand name of clonazepam, a seizure-control drug that has other uses including anxiety relief, as a treatment for Parkinson’s disease and schizophrenia and for pain management.
Burnside’s bail was set as unsecured.
No information was available on the 16-year-old because he is a juvenile.
