York — Brittany Pataky and Nikki Collins, seniors to be at Clearfield Area High School, earned Gold medals at the recent Keystone State Games in York.
They were members of the 18 and under fast pitch softball team, the Fire Storm.
The Firestorm is made up mostly of Bellefonte and District 6 players, plus the 2 Clearfield stars.
After receiving a forfeit, the Fire Storm then rattled off 4 straight wins to claim the gold.
In a 12-4 opening round win against the State College Scrappers Pataky led the team with 3 hits.
Collins had a double and a single in the 7-1 second round win over the Blue Diamonds.
In a 13-1 semi-final blow out over the Middletown Mystics, Pataky once again led the team with 3 hits, including a triple.
The Gold Medal game against the Tri-County Thunder was won in 10 innings by the Fire Storm, 6-4.
Pataky contributed 2 singles while Collins blasted a triple.
