Fair Rides to Open Late Wednesday and Friday

CLEARFIELD – Temperatures are expected to climb to 97 Wednesday, and that has prompted the Clearfield County Fair and Park Board to delay the opening of midway rides until 3 p.m.

Brenda Hunter, publicity director for the fair, said the rides, provided by Inners Shows, will remain closed due to “safety concerns.” Hunter also cited “extreme heat” as a reason for the closure.

The fair will also follow the same schedule on Friday with rides not opening until 3 p.m. then as well.

The forecast for Thursday includes a chance of afternoon thunderstorms with a high of 87. Friday is expected to be a bit cooler with temperatures near 80 and a possible thundershower, according to AccuWeather.com.
