Clearfield man incarcerated after fight

CLEARFIELD – One man was placed in Clearfield County Jail and another was taken to Clearfield Hospital after a fight broke out in Clearfield Borough Tuesday afternoon.

Clearfield Borough Police report that they were called to the 100 block of South Second Street regarding a fight at about 12:55 p.m. and found that James Carney of Clearfield had reportedly been assaulted. Carney was taken to Clearfield Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

About one hour later, police found Michael Stevens of Clearfield. He was interviewed about the incident, and officers took him into custody on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and other counts.

He was transported to Magisterial District Judge Patrick N. Ford’s officer and was arraigned on those charges. Bail was set, and he is being housed in CCJ.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
