MILESBURG — Jordan Lancaster pitched a three-hit shutout and Shane Hoover drove in three runs with a home run and a double as the Curwensville Little League 11-and-12 All-Stars rebounded from a tough first-round loss to roll past Milesburg 11-0 in District 5 Northern Tier action Tuesday evening.
Lancaster, a righthander, struck out three and walked one in the four innings before the Mercy Rule ended play.
Curwensville jumped ahead 3-0 in the bottom of the first on Hoover\’s homer and RBI-singles by Hunter McCracken and Todd Munchak.
Hoover\’s two-run double highlighted a seven-run outburst in the second frame. Mark Bressler chipped in with a run-scoring single.
Boone McGary\’s double, his second hit, accounted for the final run in the third.
Alec Starr had the other hit for Curwensville, which will travel to Clearfield for a elimination bracket quarterfinal game Thursday at 6 p.m.
