Explore Jefferson: Man Calls Woman 57 Times, Then Shows Up Uninvited at Her House

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) — A 22-year-old Reynoldsville man faces multiple criminal charges after allegedly making dozens of harassing phone calls and trespassing at a residence in Punxsutawney.

According to court documents, 22-year-old Eben James Luce, of Reynoldsville, was charged with the following offenses following an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of October 22:

– Harassment — Communicate Repeatedly and Inconvenient Hours, Misdemeanor 3 (six counts)
– Defiant Trespass Actual Communication To, Misdemeanor 3
– Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary

Luce allegedly called the victim 57 times from his phone number and made additional calls from unknown numbers between 10:30 p.m. on October 21 and 3:02 a.m. on October 22, according to a criminal complaint filed by Punxsutawney Borough Police Chief Matt Conrad.

According to the complaint, Luce also appeared at the victim’s Church Street, Punxsutawney Borough residence around midnight despite being told not to come. The victim, who was home with her six-year-old daughter during the incident, provided police with screenshots of phone records and text messages documenting the harassment.

Police say Luce continued to contact the victim through text messages on October 29, despite previous warnings to cease communication, the complaint continues.

Patrolmen Haines and Hallowell also assisted with the investigation.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 2, at 10:00 a.m., before Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock.
