DUBOIS – Residents of Clearfield County and surrounding areas are invited to attend a celebration at Penn Highlands DuBois in recognition of the hospital’s Pathway to Excellence® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
The celebration will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at 10:15 a.m. in the Penn Highlands DuBois Atrium. Penn Highlands Healthcare leadership and nurses from throughout the hospital will participate in the festivities recognizing this achievement.
The prestigious Pathway to Excellence designation highlights Penn Highlands DuBois’ commitment to fostering a positive practice environment and a culture of sustained excellence.
To be a Pathway to Excellence hospital, a healthcare organization must demonstrate a sustained positive practice environment for nurses, including elements such as shared decision-making, strong leadership, focus on safety, quality improvement, nurse well-being and robust professional development opportunities.
For consideration, a hospital is required to complete a rigorous application process by the ANCC, which assesses the organization’s culture and practices against established standards, essentially proving that nurses feel valued, empowered and have a significant voice in their workplace.
