CenClear Celebrates 25 Years of Mental Health Outpatient Success and Adds Healing After Trauma Program

BIGLER – Since its founding on Aug. 11, 1999, CenClear Mental Health Outpatient has proudly provided 25 years of dedicated mental health care, consistently expanding services to meet the community’s evolving needs.

“For a quarter-century, CenClear has prioritized compassionate, accessible mental health support for individuals and families across the region,” says Mark Wendel, chief executive officer of CenClear.

“Our mission to support well-being and healing remains as strong today as it was on day one.”

Alongside its Mental Health Outpatient services, CenClear also highlights its Healing After Trauma (HAT) program, a critical resource for children and adolescents affected by trauma.

HAT is designed as a dedicated entry point for young individuals and their families coping with the effects of physical or sexual abuse, child maltreatment or other traumatic experiences.

“Trauma can present in a variety of ways—through anger, depression, anxiety and more,” Wendel explains. “Our HAT program is here to provide specialized, trauma-focused support and therapies tailored to help these young people find their path to healing.”

The HAT program offers evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), all shown to reduce trauma’s lasting effects.

These services are available in Clearfield, DuBois and Punxsutawney, with flexible payment options like a sliding fee scale and grant-funded assistance, ensuring that financial need is never a barrier to accessing support.

CenClear remains committed to making mental health care accessible, meeting people where they are, and advocating for mental health across all ages.

Currently, appointments are available across all CenClear locations for mental health and substance use services, including psychiatry and medication-assisted treatment.
