HOUTZDALE – This year’s dinner, sponsored by Moshannon Valley Ministerium and Houtzdale Lions Club, will be on Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. at St. Barbara’s National Catholic Church in Houtzdale.
Attendees from past years will be getting contacted in the next couple weeks by volunteers from Houtzdale Lions Club.
Anyone who has turned 80 since last year’s dinner is welcome to contact Fr. Bill Ellis at 814-378-5137 and the names will be added to the list.
Also, anyone outside the Houtzdale, Ramey or Madera area who would like to attend should contact Fr. Bill with their name.
Transportation will be provided only for the Houtzdale-Ramey-Madera area for those unable to drive or have no other means of transportation.
A senior citizen over 80 may bring a relative or friend to the dinner, but they’re asked to pay $10 to cover the cost of the guest’s dinner. If the $10 cost is a financial hardship, the Ministerium will cover the cost.
This is much more than a sit-down dinner with great fellowship. There will also be prizes, awards and goodie bags distributed.
If you have a family member or friend over 80 who has never attended, please reach out to Fr. Bill to join in an afternoon of fellowship and fun. Reservations are requested by Oct. 16.
