DUBOIS – After a thorough investigative effort, it has been determined that an alleged kidnapping attempt or related crime did not occur Thursday morning in DuBois.
“We want to make our community and surrounding area aware, that at this time, there is no active concern that a child was part of a potential kidnapping,” police said in a social media update, noting that the case has been closed.
Police commended community members and the efforts of local and state law enforcement for their diligent effort and exchange of information to resolve this matter.
“The support and concern of our community is well received and greatly appreciated,” police said, and “as always, be mindful of your surroundings at all times while in public places.”
Police encouraged community members to never hesitate to contact 911 if they observe anything of concern.
