LT Supers Schedule Fall Cleanup, Trick-or-treat

CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township board of supervisors held its second regular voting meeting of the month Tuesday.

On the agenda was regular business from the township manager, as well as upcoming activities like the township’s fall cleanup and trick-or-treat night.

The supervisors voted to invest funds totaling $500,000 with Wells Fargo, and to move its State Fund and Fire Company Capital Fund from Northwest Bank to CNB Bank.

They also voted to change their QuickBooks administrator from former Secretary/Treasurer Barbara Shaffner to recently-hired Township Manager Ashley Pritchard.

The supervisors voted to schedule the fall cleanup for Sept. 27-28. Cleanup will take place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. both days.

They stressed that items like computers, laptops, paints and chemicals, etc., are strictly prohibited. However, scrap metal, appliances, mowers and other items of that sort are acceptable.

The supervisors said so far as tires, residents are limited to four (from a car or “light truck”) per address.

Code Enforcement Officer Agatha Lauder noted that individuals will be requested to show proof of township residency when they drop off their items.

The supervisors said residents may not drop off any items prior to or after fall cleanup hours. Any violators will be charged with illegal dumping.

The supervisors also scheduled trick-or-treat night for Halloween, Oct. 31, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., to be in alignment with Clearfield Borough.

The next meeting of the Lawrence Township Supervisors will be Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.
