Grampian Lions Club Welcomes New Member

GRAMPIAN – The Grampian Lions Club has welcomed a new member, Kimmy Wheeler. She was installed by club officer, Jim Bennett, at a recent meeting.

Club members also discussed the club’s fall schedule of events.

The 15th annual Andy Sutika Memorial Softball Tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, at Heindl Memorial Field, DuBois.

A basket raffle and food booth will be held at the tournament. All proceeds will benefit the club’s Special Needs Fund that helps others.

The Children’s Halloween Trunk-or-Treat will be Saturday, Oct. 26, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Grampian Community Park.

It will be held as a walk-thru event, unless there’s inclement weather, then it will become a drive-thru event.

Plans are being made for the Children’s Christmas Festival, which is currently scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

This free event will take place at the Grampian Cen-Clear Center. All local children are welcome.

More information will be available closer to the event.

The Grampian Fire Company thanked club members for their help in the cleanup of the Grampian Community park.

Thank-you notes were also read to club members from two Curwensville Area High School students who were recipients of the 2024 scholarships.

New members are always welcome. The Lions’ motto is “We Serve.”
