ICE Confirms Altercation Occurred at Moshannon Valley Processing Center

DECATUR TOWNSHIP – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Philadelphia Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) field office has confirmed an altercation occurred at the GEO Moshannon Valley Processing Center earlier today.

According to an ICE spokesperson, at approximately 2:05 p.m., an altercation reportedly occurred on the West Yard involving a group of detainees.

“Responding staff quickly separated and contained the situation without further incident. Out of an abundance of caution, four detainees were transported to an outside medical facility to receive additional treatment.”

There were no life-threatening injuries and no injuries to staff requiring outside medical attention.

“The incident is under control and there is no safety risk to the general public,” the spokesperson said. “As this incident is currently under investigation, we have no further information at this time.”
