Crime Corsica Man Accused of Threatening to Have Neighbor & Sons Shot

UNION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Corsica man is facing charges for allegedly threatening a man in Union Township.

According to court records, Marienville-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 68-year-old Ronald Allan Smail, of Corsica, in District Judge Gregory Bazylak’s office on Wednesday, August 7:

According to a criminal complaint, PSP Marienville were dispatched to the 300 block of Riddle Lane, in Eldred Township, Jefferson County, around 10:50 a.m. on June 24, about issues with the complainant’s neighbor.

The victim told police the incident happened while he was on his property located off Snyder Road, near its intersection with Howe Road in Union Township, Jefferson County, the complaint states.

The victim said Ronald Smail drove up his private road on a green side-by-side. Smail stopped once he saw the victim, and the two began a conversation. The conversation escalated and led to Smail telling the victim he was “going to hell” and that he would have the victim and his three sons shot, the complaint indicates.

Smail was then told to leave by the victim, to which he complied, the complaint notes.

Smail faces a preliminary hearing on September 25, at 9:45 a.m. with Judge Bazylak presiding.
