BROOKVILLE – The 2023 Brookville Laurel Festival Queen, Tayler Rafferty, will be hosting a “Freedom Color Run” on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
It will take place at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds,a quarter-mile north of Interstate 80 exit 81 (Hazen). Registration opens at 9 a.m., and the run begins at 10 a.m.
This vibrant and energetic event aims to honor active military members, veterans and their families.
Rafferty’s dedication to this cause is deeply personal. Her older brother, an active Airman in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit with the U.S. Air Force, has been serving the nation for 12 years.
She shared, “My brother and his colleagues work each day to ensure the safety of our beloved country, and I want to give back to them. Military members are selflessly fighting for our freedom and supporting them is the least we can do.”
With immense pride and a heartfelt mission, Rafferty aims to support her brother and his fellow service members through this event. All proceeds from the run will be donated to the EOD Warrior Foundation.
This foundation is dedicated to serving the EOD community by providing financial assistance and support to Active-Duty, Reserve and National Guard, Retired, and Veteran EOD technicians and their families.
