DuBois City Accepts Nasuti’s Retirement

DUBOIS – The retirement of DuBois City/Sandy Township Engineer Chris Nasuti was formally accepted at Tuesday’s council meeting.

Nasuti’s resignation for retirement purposes will be effective Friday, July 5.  Applications are now being accepted for the position.

Currently, the city and township have “cross-hired” their municipal manager and engineer positions.

Additionally, township administrative staff have started to fill in vacant and soon-to-be vacant accounting positions that were in the process of consolidation.

Council subsequently voted to accept the township’s offer to consolidate both municipalities’ administrative staff into the city building.

Council also voted to move forward with its new employee manual.

In other business:

Council heard an update on the city’s negotiations with regards to the proposed refinancing of three loans as part of a long-term debt reduction effort.

City/Township Manager Shawn Arbaugh indicated that if succesful, it would save the city about $100,000 annually.

June 8 will also mark the 75th DuBois Little League Celebration in the DuBois Public Park.  The event is free, and open to the public. 

There will be inflatables, food and a homerun derby, with a fireworks display to conclude the celebration.
