RIDGWAY – The North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission’s (North Central) NC Export Marketing Program is co-sponsoring a pair of training events in State College designed to help companies who export their products better serve overseas customers.
The event is being held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 at 200 Innovation Blvd., Room 243, State College.
The event is free of charge, and the deadline to register is May 15. The event includes a continental breakfast, refreshments, course materials and certificate of completion.
North Central is co-sponsoring the event with SEDA-COG and the Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission’s International Program.
There are two training sessions being held during the day-long event. Bob Imbriani of Team Worldwide will present Exporting Repairs, Warranties, Samples and Replacements from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Imbriani will discuss how not all two shipments are alike and the training will take a closer look at reviewing specific documentation, valuations, and classifications needed when exporting items after repair, under warranty, samples or replacements.
From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Imbriani will present Classification Under The U.S. Harmonized Tariff and Schedule B.
The session will focus on understanding the Harmonized System and is essential for importers and exporters alike. The session will also focus on the proper classification as a regulatory requirement under Customs.
The session will also include how to determine valuation and classifying products using the Harmonized System. Electronic Export Information filing requirements will also be discussed.
Modernization Act and export control regulations, along with tariffs and trade preference provisions will also be covered during the training.
