CLEARFIELD – After four years of planning and fundraising, the Lawrence Township Dog Park committee is proud to announce the grand opening of the Dog Park.
The celebration will be held Sunday, April 28, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., in the park, located at the Lawrence Township Recreation Park on Fire Tower Road, Clearfield.
Free hot dogs will be available and treat bags will be given to the first 24 dogs who enter the park.
The Dog Park was open to the public last fall, but weather conditions forced the grand opening celebration to be postponed until this spring.
Recently, the Animal Welfare Council held its annual Dog Bone Hunt at the park, where 74 canine friends enjoyed the park.
The committee plans to continue fundraising for enhancements to the park, such as benches, lighting, shade sails, agility equipment, etc.
The second-ever Doggie Paddle will be held at the Dented Keg on Sunday, July 21. For more information on the event, check the Lawrence Township Dog Park Facebook page.
The committee would like to thank the community for its support of this endeavor, and hopes all dog owners enjoy having a safe environment for their pets to run and play.
See you at the park!
