Local EMS Teams Tour Ridgway Community Medical Building In Advance of Opening

Local fire companies and EMS teams toured the new Penn Highlands Ridgway Community Medical Building and conducted drills at the site which is slated to open this spring.

On April 14, 2024, fire companies and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) teams from Johnsonburg, Ridgway and St. Marys toured the new Penn Highlands Ridgway Community Medical Building and conducted practice drills at the facility.

“This was a great opportunity for the first responders to learn the layout of the building prior to its opening,” said Jason Hickman, director of facilities at Penn Highlands Healthcare. “The fire companies also brought their aerial trucks to practice roof drills.”

The new $7 million facility, which is conveniently located at 250 West Main Street in Ridgway, will offer many outpatient services including family and internal medicine; specialty services; outpatient physical therapy and occupational therapy; medical imaging with ultrasound and x-ray; laboratory services; a retail pharmacy; and occupational health services.

The new Ridgway Community Medical Building is expected to open in late spring. A Community Open House will be held for residents to tour the building prior to its opening.
