CLEARFIELD – Get ready for a day of fun and to frolic with your furry friends.
The annual Easter Bone Hunt, presented by the Animal Welfare Council/Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic, is all set to take place on Saturday, April 6.
This year, the Bone Hunt will take place at the Lawrence Township Dog Park, located in the Lawrence Township Recreation Park, on Fire Tower Road.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to support the dog park, and enjoy a delightful day out with your dog in a safe outdoor environment.
Join to kickoff the event with registration starting at 2 p.m., followed by the hunt at 2:30 p.m. For just $2 per nose, you can be a part of this community event.
Don’t forget to bring your camera, as the Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance for pictures.
As a gentle reminder, all dogs must be vaccinated and, on a leash, (no retractable leashes, please). Also, remember to bring a basket or bag to collect your eggs.
Let’s come together as a community and make this event a success.
Did you know? The Easter Bone Hunt has a history dating back to 2003 when the Mountain Laurel Kennel Club first hosted it. Even after the Kennel Club dissolved, the Animal Welfare Council continued this beloved tradition.
Now in its 21st year, the Bone Hunt remains a cherished outdoor event for dogs, kids and adults of all ages.
So, what exactly is an Easter Bone Hunt?
It’s a unique and fun way to exercise your dog. Organizers have residents from Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg stuff over 1,000 eggs with dog treats. Waggin Trains generously donates all the treats as well as winning tickets.
The lucky ticket winners of each category—small, medium and large dogs—get to claim a prize from Waggin Trains at the end of the hunt.
One person must accompany each dog to hunt the eggs.
Come and join others to enjoy the new dog park, and be a part of this long-standing tradition.
