DUBOIS – The interim solicitor provided status updates on a pair of ongoing personnel matters at a special meeting of DuBois City Council Monday night.

Interim Solicitor Thomas Breth reported that Police Chief Blaine Clark was placed on paid administrative leave Friday, Feb. 16 following the city’s receipt of a complaint concerning Clark.

He said the complaint was referred to the Clearfield County District Attorney’s office for purposes of an internal investigation and that Clark has retained legal counsel.

Breth didn’t believe it was appropriate to further discuss the matter.

Currently, Sgt. Shawn McCleary has been acting as interim police chief, and was formally appointed to the position Monday night by council.

Breth also reported on the contract status of suspended City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio.

He said at its next meeting, council will have a resolution for consideration that would move the city towards termination of Suplizio.

Breth said the resolution—if approved March 11—would put Suplizio on notice in the event he wants to request a hearing before council.
