CURWENSVILLE — It was an early start inside Patton Hall on Thursday night for the Curwensville Lady Tide. The 6:30 p.m. start was the welcoming time for the girls to play host to the Lady Red Dragons from Purchase Line. This night would also end early as the visitors would waste little time getting out front, and staying there. Curwensville at the end of the game looked up at a 74-12 final that was over in a matter of minutes.
Purchase Line would get out to the lead quickly, and defensively they made it difficult for any baskets to fall in the hoop.
At the end of one quarter, the Lady Red Dragons put up 17 points, and held the Lady Tide scoreless. The visitors continued to put Curwensville through the paces in the second quarter, hitting the Mercy Rule during the stanza, as the teams headed to the locker room with Purchase Line having a 41-3 lead.
Four Lady Red Dragons hit double figures, as Jianna Hopkins led all scoring with 19 points. Brooklyn Syster added in 17 points, and both Anna Layden and Katie Weaver each accounted for 10 a piece. Curwensville only had three manage points on the night, with Brooklynn Price putting up six. Curwensville only managed nine more points in the second half as the running clock was running the entire time.
Curwensville (0-19) will finish out the week on the road as they will travel to face Harmony on Friday night.
