Clearfield Swim Teams Split with Brookville

HYDE — The Clearfield swimming and diving teams split with visiting Brookville Tuesday at the Robert L. Shearer Natatorium.

The boys remained perfect in season dual meets with a dominant victory over the Raiders (112-59), while the Lady Bison fell to Brookville 110-75.

The boys won eight of the 12 events, dropping only the 200 IM, 100 back, 100 breast, and the 400 free relay to Brookville.

Zane Day, Derrick Mikesell, Connor Morgan and Nick Vaow teamed up to take the 200 medley relay and Mikesell, Morgan, Vaow and Landyn Rankin combined for a win in the 200 free relay.

Rankin (200 free, 500 free) and Vaow (50 free, 100 free) were each double winners, while Morgan touched first in the 100 butterfly.

Day, (100 back), Lucas Scott (200 IM, 100 free), Ashton Harris (100 fly, 500 free), and  Mikesell (100 breast, 50 free) added runner-up finishes, while Morgan (200 free),  Colten Walker (200 IM), and Gavin Coudriet (100 free) racked up thirds to help the Bison distance themselves on the scoreboard.

Senior Keegan MacDonald not only improved on his own team record of 293.35 set last week, but broke the 45-year-old home pool record with his score of 311.00 points.

For the Lady Bison, Danielle Cline (200 free) and Dehlia Elbe (diving) won individual events.

Cline and Marlayna Bender pulled off the 2-3 finish in the 100 butterfly.  Ellie McBride and Lexie Miller added the 2-3 finish in the 100 free.

Brooklynne Brown and Emma Jacob pulled off the 2-3 finish in the 500 free.

Ellie McBride (200 free), Brown (200 IM), Kaylin Houston (100 breast), and Madi McBride (50 free) recorded thirds.

Haley Custaney finished runner-up behind Elbe in the diving event.
