Lady Tide Struggle in Loss to Mount Union

CURWENSVILLE — The young Curwensville Lady Tide basketball squad got back to work on Thursday night, as Patton Hall warmed up while the temperatures outside began to cool down. Coming in to compete were the Mount Union Lady Trojans.

At the end of the evening, experience and speed won the game as Curwensville fell 62-20.

Mount Union got going in the first quarter, almost doubling up the Lady Tide in scoring. The visitors then tripled the scoring in the second quarter. Curwensville was down by 19 at the half, and it only got harder from there.

The Lady Tide would only put up six points in the entire second half, as the Mercy Rule clock began running in the third quarter.

Cailyn Skopic led all scoring as she put up 25 points in the Lady Trojan win. Patyn Williams dropped 15, while Maddie Dimoff added in another 10.

The bright spot for the Lady Tide was Briah Peoples, who managed a 12-point night.
