Curwensville Man Jailed on Sexual Assault Charges

CURWENSVILLE – A Curwensville man is behind bars for the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl.

Robert Paul Mallon III, 47, is charged by Clearfield state police with felony statutory sexual assault—11 years older, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, photograph/film/depict on computer sex act, corruption of minors and criminal use of communication facility, as well as misdemeanor lure child into motor vehicle and indecent assault.

According to a WJAC-TV report, the investigation began earlier this week after state police learned Mallon had solicited nude photographs from and then “lured” a 14-year-old girl from her home for sexual activity.

State police say Mallon initiated contact with the teen via Snap Chat—a messaging app that lets users exchange pictures and videos (called snaps) that are meant to disappear after being viewed.

He allegedly solicited sexual photographs from her before luring her into meeting him Jan. 5 and assaulting her inside his truck. He also photographed her nude several times, reportedly telling her to show “the boys at school.”

When questioned by state police, Mallon never denied the accusations, the report states.

Currently Mallon is being held in county jail unable to post $500,000 bail with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 17 during centralized court.
