Election Office: Clerical Error Won’t Affect Mail-in Applications, Ballots

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Election Office is addressing a clerical error it made in correspondence to thousands of county mail-in voters.

Between Dec. 26, 2023 and Dec. 28, 2023, the office sent out over 6,000 letters to its annual mail-in voters with the incorrect deadline date of May 9, 2023; the date should have read April 16, 2024.

“This was a clerical error on our part and will not affect the acceptance of your application or your ballot once we send them out and receive it back,” states Election Director Dawn Graham.

“If you have already applied, please be assured that your application is being processed and when the ballot is ready, it will be sent out.”

If you’re uncomfortable using this application, you can either request a new application, or visit the office and complete an application that does not have a date pre-printed on it, adds Graham.

Any further questions, should be directed to the Clearfield County Election Office at 814-765-2642, Ext. 5053.
