Woodland Man Accused of Assaulting Young Girl Waives Hearing

CLEARFIELD – A Woodland man has been accused of assaulting a young girl in November of 2020.

In October Anthony J. Zuccolotto, 43, was charged by Clearfield state police with felony aggravated assault; misdemeanor reckless endangerment, simple assault and child endangerment; and one summary.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the investigation began on Dec. 1, 2022 when the victim reported to her school guidance counselor that Zuccolotto had been verbally and physically abusive for several years.

She also reported a specific incident that happened on Nov. 10, 2020 in Bradford Township when she was 12 years old. She said Zuccolotto struck her with a 2X4 board on her buttocks and arm multiple times because she didn’t clean a barn out properly.

She provided more details in a forensic interview Dec. 14, 2022 at the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County, adding how she tried blocking his strikes to her buttocks with her arm.

But, this caused her to suffer a broken arm, and Zuccolotto allegedly coerced her into telling her mother as well as emergency room personnel that she got injured by falling out of a tree.

The victim’s story was corroborated by another witness and medical records, which indicated that she had a left arm fracture requiring a long-arm cast.

Zuccolotto waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday during centralized court, sending his case to county court for further disposition. Bail is currently set at $10,000, unsecured.
