Golden Tide Doubled Up by Rival Glendale

CURWENSVILLE — The Glendale Vikings handed the Curwensville Golden Tide their first loss on the young season, besting the Tide 50-24 inside Curwensville’s Patton Hall.

The Tide dropped to 2-1, while the Vikings evened their season record at 4-4.

There were eight contested bouts and five forfeits. Glendale won five of the eight bouts, three of them by fall, and were recipients of four forfeits, resulting in the lopsided final score.

The Tide got falls from sophomore Heath Hawkins (7-2) at 215, senior Ryder Kuklinskie (5-2) at 145, and senior Logan Aughenbaugh (7-0) at 189. The Tide’s other six points were earned by 107 pound junior Austin Gilliland (5-2) via forfeit.

The Tide will see plenty of action this weekend when they head to New Bethlehem to take part in the Redbank Valley Duals.
