Falls Creek F.D. to Host Annual Bear Check Station

FALLS CREEK – The Falls Creek Fire Department will host its eighth annual bear check station.

Pennsylvania Game Commission agents are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18 and Sunday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Saturday—according to organizers—is the busiest or “best day” to see bears. Sunday will also include the famous chicken barbecue , beginning at 11 a.m. until sold out. Then, Monday’s activities will take place from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.

And, organizers say “there’s so much more than just bears.”

This year it includes a big raffle and a lot of free door prize drawings. Food will also be available for purchase.

The station has a Patch program, with the image designed by a member of the fire department. Scouts as well as youth (under age 18) can participate and earn a patch for free.

The fire department is located at 4 First St., Falls Creek, (turn back the street beside the post office building).
