CLEARFIELD – Tuesday was Pennsylvania’s Municipal Election.
In Clearfield County, registered voters made their selections for the county’s board of commissioners and Register and Recorder.
In the commissioners’ race were Republican John Sobel and Democrat Dave Glass, both incumbents, whose opponents were Republican Tim Winters and Democrat Dennis Biancuzzo.
Voters made two selections on the ballot, with the top three being elected to serve out a four-year board term.
Both incumbents—Sobel (9,278 votes) and Glass (6,406 votes)—won their bids for reelection. They will be joined in office by Winters (9,542 votes), which keeps the Republican majority.
For office of Register and Recorder, the race was between Republican Heather Olson-Desmett and Democrat Graham Henry Guthrie, with Olson-Desmett winning with 12,912 votes over Guthrie (4,230 votes).
District Attorney Ryan Sayers (14,704 votes) and Coroner Kim Shaffer-Snyder (15,500 votes) won unopposed. Republican Jay Siegel was also unopposed for county treasurer, receiving 14,850 votes.
Finally, District Judges Mike Morris, District 46-3-02, Clearfield; Jerome Nevling, District 46-3-03, Kylertown; and Jim Glass, District 46-3-04, Houtzdale, won unopposed. Morris received 3,966 votes; Nevling, 3,360; votes and Glass, 3,480 votes.
Clearfield County has 47,584 total registered voters with 17,546 ballots being cast for an overall voter turnout of 36.87 percent.
All results are unofficial until certified by the Clearfield County Board of Elections.
